DESCRIPTION:IIFB activities at Place Quebec\nThe IIFB facilitated a space for Indigenous Peoples and local communities to meet and showcase their work at Place Québec\, from 22 to 30 October 2024. \nPlace Québec was an interactive space for multi-stakeholder networking located in the heart of the Blue Zone of the UN Biodiversity Conference 2024. It  was accessible to all registered conference participants. \nThe IIFB space at Place Quebec had scheduled up to 6 events every day at the venue. DESCRIPTION:IIFB Silent demonstration at COP 16\nDATE: 30 October 2024 \nVENUE: Blue Zone\, Cali\, Colombia \n  \n\n\nThe International Indigenous Forum on Biodiversity (IIFB) and partners held a silent demonstration to advocate for the establishment of a Permanent Subsidiary Body on Article 8j (SB8j)\, in order to ensure the full and effective participation of Indigenous Peoples and local communities in the implementation of the Kunming Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF)\, respecting their rights\, roles and contributions to biodiversity.\n\n\n\n\nThis peaceful demonstration took place at 1 PM outside the exit of Sierra Nevada room\, located at the Blue Zone. \n\n\nIndigenous Peoples representatives held placards on the SB8j to ensure that the Parties were aware of the message.
