DESCRIPTION:Presentation of the Outcomes of the TRɄA World Summit on Traditional Knowledge related to Biodiversity at the United Nations Climate Change Conference\n  \nDATE: 18 November\, 2024 \nTIME: 3 to 4 PM local time \nVENUE: Indigenous Pavilion \nMODALITY: Panel discussion and dialogue \nInterpretation in English and Spanish available. \nSUMMARY: \nThe IIFB participated of the 29th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)\, which took place in Baku\, Azerbaijan from 11 to 22 November 2024\, with the side event  “Indigenous Guardians of the Earth: Protecting our Ancestral Lands”. \nThis side event\, co-organized with the IIN\, IWBN\, AIWO and the International Alliance of Indigenous and Tribal Peoples of the Tropical Forests\, featured Lucy Mulenkei\, Co-chair of the IIFB as main speaker. Territory is the integral connection with Mother Nature from which Indigenous Peoples build and weave their cultural identities\, their knowledge\, and wisdoms. In this summit\, all voices united as one\, for the TRɄA\, towards COP 16. \nThis event was organized by the International Indigenous Forum on Biodiversity (IIFB)\, the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of Colombia\, the Mesa Permanente de Concertación (MPC) and the International Women Biodiversity Network (IWBN)\, with the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity as partner and with the support of the Federal Ministry for the Environment\, Nature Conservation\, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV)\, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany\, GIZ\, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency\, SwedBio\, Campaign for Nature\, NiaTero\, Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Oregon State University. \nThis meeting was held under the Chatham House Rule.
