After the adoption of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, an advisory panel was established to discuss Resource Mobilization, which includes IIFB representatives. Present funding landscapes tend to exclude Indigenous Peoples and local communities from discussion, planning and the managment of financial resources on biodiversity conservation.

The IIFB advocates for culturally appropriate and direct funding for Indigenous Peoples and local communities -led conservation initiatives. For this reason, an internal IIFB Working Group has been established.
