Coiab and the Podáali Fund were present at the preparatory meeting for the sixth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Implementation (SBI-6), held within the framework of the International Indigenous Forum on Biodiversity (IIFB).
SBI-6 is the sixth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the technical body responsible for monitoring the implementation of global biodiversity conservation targets by signatory countries.
The IIFB (International Indigenous Forum on Biodiversity) works to ensure that traditional knowledge, territorial rights, and the perspectives of Indigenous Peoples are integrated into CBD decisions and policies.
The participation of Coiab and Podáali in this preparatory space reaffirms the commitment of Brazilian Indigenous organizations in international climate and biodiversity forums, helping to ensure that Indigenous voices are heard and taken into account in discussions that affect their territories and futures.
