IIFB Full Day Side Event at COP16: The new Programme of Work and institutional arrangements on Traditional Knowledge to achieve the Kunming Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework

This side event organized by the International Indigenous Forum on Biodiversity (IIFB) addressed key issues of the new Programme of Work and institutional arrangements on Traditional Knowledge.

A series of pannels aimed to open the dialogue on topics such as Indigenous Peoples and local communities’ participation in the National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs), IIFB priorities to achieve the Kunming Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF) by 2030, Digital Sequence Information (DSI) and the protection of traditional knowledge.

The list of speakers included Lakpa Nuri Sherpa, Daniel Mabengo, Mauricio Ferrari, Ramiro Batzin, Alifereti Tawake, Daisy Chepkopus, Katie Lee Riddle, Jasmine Kindness, Preston Hardison, June Lorenzo, Rodrigo de la Cruz, Florina Lopez, Begoña Venero Aguirre and Ana Francisca Perez, who led the opening spiritual ceremony.
