Located in the heart of the Blue Zone of the UN Biodiversity Conference 2024, Place Quebec was an interactive space for multi-stakeholder networking accessible to all registered conference participants, that run from 22 to 30 October.
The International Indigenous Forum on Biodiversity (IIFB) had a dedicated space at Place Quebec for Indigenous Peoples and local communities, organizations and partners in biodiversity conservation to meet and showcase their work.
A total of 30 events were held at the IIFB space at Place Quebec, featuring 139 panelists from 64 organizations. Around 850 people attended the side events, which helped to display and increase visibility of the work done by Indigenous Peoples and local, organizations and strategic partners attending COP 16. In addition to the space at Place Quebec, the IIFB also had a booth located in the main square, between the Amazon Plenary Hall and Place Québec. The IIFB booth was available from 17 October to 1 November, to hold short meetings and exhibit brochures, printed materials and projections. It is estimated that around 2500 people visited the stand and/or received information. This space was key to increase visibility of the work done by the IIFB and Indigenous Peoples and local communities.
