News | 29 April.- In the framework of the Twenty-sixth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice, that will take place from 13 to 18 May in Nairobi, Kenya, the International Indigenous Forum on Biodiversity (IIFB) will host the side event IPLCs’ contribution to the achievement of Target 3: Act30 Initiative.
The meeting, scheduled on May 17th, 2024 at 18:15 EAT, is organized jointly with the Indigenous Information Network (IIN) and Sotz’il.
The event will address Target 3 of the Kunming – Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) on conservation of 30% of lands and waters by 2030 and Act30, a global initiative co-designed and co-delivered by IIFB, IUCN, IUCN IPO, and Esri, to scale up conservation approaches, drawing on scientific evidence and traditional knowledge, and backed by advanced geospatial technology.
