Nepal – Sherpa Indigenous Peoples

Lakpa Nuri Sherpa belongs to the Sherpa Indigenous Community from Nepal. Currently, he  heads the Environment Programme of Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP).

Lakpa has been playing key roles in building and strengthening the capacity and policy advocacy of Indigenous Peoples, Indigenous Women, and Indigenous Youth on Indigenous Peoples’ rights, climate, and biodiversity at local, national, and regional levels. He has served as the global focal point of the International Indigenous Peoples Forum on Climate Change (IIPFCC) for 11 years.
