SUMMARY:
The International Indigenous Forum on Biodiversity (IIFB) led daily Caucus meetings in preparation for COP16.2 negotiatons, from 25 to 27 February, in Rome Italy.
IIFB preparatory Caucus meetings aimed to ensure IIFB’s central objective: guarantee the full and effective participation of Indigenous Peoples and local communities in the development of financial mechanisms, monitoring frameworks, and benefit-sharing arrangements.
The meetings aimed to consolidate perspectives and enhance coordination. Among the discussed topics were the following key agenda items:

Along with the preparatory meetings, IIFB will actively engaged in the process with informal meetings with parties, bilateral meetings with organization and participating in the plenary sessions.
