IIFB preparatory Caucus meetings will be held throughout COP16.2 to ensure IIFB’s central objective: ensure the full and effective participation of Indigenous Peoples and local communities in the development of financial mechanisms, monitoring frameworks, and benefit-sharing arrangements.
“We are confident that the deliberations in Rome offer a critical opportunity to advance shared goals and to reinforce the central role, rights and contributions of Indigenous Peoples and local communities in the stewardship of biodiversity”, said Ramiro Batzin, IIFB co-chair.
Along with the preparatory meetings, IIFB will actively engage in the process with informal meetings with parties, bilateral meetings with organization and participating in the plenary sessions.
