SUMMARY:
This side event hosted by the International Indigenous Forum on Biodiversity (IIFB) addressed the following topics:
- Agreement under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea on the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biological Diversity of Areas beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ Agreement)
- The Cali Fund
- Indigenous Peoples and Digital Sequence Information (DSI)
- The WIPO Treaty on Intellectual Property, Genetic Resources and Associated Traditional Knowledge.
The discussion panel was led by Viviana Figueroa, Global Technical Coordinator of IIFB and member of the Indigenous Women Network of Biodiversity – LAC (RMIB in Spanish).
The meeting was organized together with the Indigenous Women Network of Biodiversity – LAC (RMIB in Spanish) with the support of Bloomberg Philanthropies.
